Elections for your school board or council are an important part of your governance process… But are they distracting you from things that are more important for you to be involved with at your school? We understand that maintaining the integrity of an election is vital, and with electronic elections, there are additional concerns for the security of the data held for the election. This is why we have a Safer Technology 4 Schools (ST4S) certification for our election platform. ST4S certification is an independent third-party verification of our systems to ensure they meet an agreed minimum standard to ensure the security of private information. But we see ST4S certification as only the first stage… We have a number of additional layers of security over and above those that are required to make sure we are following industry best practice when handling your school’s data.

We will work with your school to make sure our election process, timetables and reporting meet the requirements of any local laws or regulations. Our online election platform is easy to use for voters, candidates and school staff and we provide regular reporting to the school during the nomination and voting phases so you know where your election is up to at all times.

Schooled Election Pilot has been running school board elections in New Zealand since 1992… So there isn’t much we haven’t seen already. In New Zealand, our school board elections are covered by legislation, and there are very strict rules in place as to how and when these are run. We are used to working with all elections, from small to very large schools. In 2025, we ran over 1600 school board elections with over 8000 candidates and over 750 000 registered voters, so there isn’t anything we can’t handle.

Based on our experience, we believe that electronic elections give higher levels of engagement and larger voter return. Families are more time poor than ever and making the nomination and voting process as easy as possible is key to increasing voter engagement. Our election platform has a very simple user interface, that works across any device or platform, to remove boundaries for your community.
